Transform the dull look of your concrete floor with the distinctive and vintage concrete acid stain finish.
Are you wondering how to revitalize your dull, worn out concrete floors without spending a small fortune or going through the hassle of replacing the whole floor?
Concrete acid staining may be what you are looking for, if you want something that will give your home or business individuality and a vintage feel.
Concrete staining adds color to the floor and produces a beautiful opaque effect.
Its distinctive look is often described as ‘vintage’ or ‘unique’ and can completely transform the look of a dull concrete floor by adding character.
At DMV Epoxy Floors Washington, we can transform any new or old concrete floor into a durable, long-lasting concrete floor with translucent color tones that become a permanent part of the surface.
We use water-based acidic solutions for our acid staining, containing metallic salts that react with the concrete lime. As every concrete is different in composition, age, condition and location, the reaction between the acid and the concrete is always different, resulting in no two floors ever looking the same.
Except for the cost of preparing the concrete floor and applying the acid stain, there are no other cost associated with acid stained floors or maintaining them.
Sealed concrete floors don't require extensive maintenance. All you will need for your floors to look new is a mop and some mild floor cleaner. For larger spaces a floor scrubber is recommended.
The stained concrete floor with their protective top coat are harder to damage and will protect against mold and mildew growth on the surface.
We offer a variety of concrete stain colors, which can enhance the look not only of your concrete but interior too.
Concrete stain is a relatively easy process, however attention to details is needed to achieve the desired result.
We start every project by cleaning your concrete floors. Depending on the condition of the floor we either mechanically grind the top layer to remove any old coatings, stains, dirt, oils and grime or for new and unsealed concretes we pressure wash the floor. Preparing the floor is the most important part, as any contaminants left on the floor can stop the acid from reacting with the floor.
Once the floor is back to clean canvas, we repair any imperfections on the floor. This is to ensure the structural integrity of the concrete slab.
As every concrete is different in composition, age and condition, we make a stain test on a hidden area to see how the acid color will react with the floor.
We then mark the floor to create the desired patterns.
We then move onto spraying the acid color on the floor. Once the concrete is sprayed, we leave the stain to react with the concrete and do its magic. Depending on the concrete, we may have to repeat this step until we reach the desired color.
The final step is to apply a protective UV stable concrete sealer.
